Tough summer running

Maybe I’m just no used to the heat, but running over the weekend was a distinctly unpleasant experience.

  • Thursday – 13 miles
  • Saturday – 15 miles
  • Sunday – 21 miles

On Sunday I took 2.7 litres of water in my hydration pack, had sore shoulders for the first 12 miles… and ran out of water at 18 miles.

I’m beginning to wonder if its sensible to do the Thames Path in September knowing that all the training is going to be over the hottest parts of the summer.

Time will tell.
